CrossTalk is a TV debate experience which presents hot-topic discussions on politics, business, newsmakers, global trends, present-day conflicts, and dangers and challenges facing our world. Host Peter Lavelle poses hard, straightforward questions to his guests, and demands concrete answers in response.
War without purpose
The war is back on and this appears to be one of attrition. Trump and his supporters have never been interested in a negotiated end to the conflict. They still demand Iran’s surrender. That is not going to happen. Iran can say no. CrossTalking with Steve Jermy, Michael Scheuer, and Matteo Capasso.
Generational rejection
There is a sense of change in the air. The belief in long held social and political dogmas are questioned and even rejected. Boomers – in power for well more than a half century – are being rejected by younger generations. The world they are inheriting is broken and has few prospects. CrossTalking with Jason Zaharis, Zarefah Baroud, and Ethan Levins.
CrossTalk Bullhorns: Iran’s full Strait
Trump says talks will continue, but the ceasefire is over. How does that work? In so many words, the US is still demanding Iran’s surrender. Also, exactly what is Washington’s position on the Ukraine conflict and are we witnessing a long-range strike war of attrition? CrossTalking with George Szamuely and Mark Sleboda.
Absence of strategy
It’s deja-vu all over again. The MoU ending the Iran war is in tatters. At the NATO meeting in Ankara, peace with Russia was not on the agenda. Instead, the now familiar agreement-incapable approach has overwhelming sway. It is obvious that the West is unable to think strategically. Peter Lavelle interviews Alastair Crooke.
Agreement-incapable
As the Iranian people lay to rest their Supreme Leader, Donald Trump has returned to making deadly threats. These threats make a mockery of the Memorandum of Understanding framework aimed at ending the war. This is still more evidence the West is agreement-incapable. CrossTalking with Haytham Faraj, Kevork Almassian, and Mohammed Akunjee.
CrossTalk Bullhorns: Absence of peace
We are back to square one in Iran and Ukraine. The MOU is looking to be nothing more than a ruse and a deceit. A ploy to buy time and search for leverage. Much the same can be said about the Ukraine conflict. The West is not interested in peace. It is pursuing a policy of direct war against Russia. Russia has taken note. CrossTalking with Mark Sleboda and George Szamuely.
